Quiver vs Bag (Low level)
2010-03-03
Yeah it's definately a good question.
On one hand you use the quiver. It will up your DPS, because the increased attack speed. You don't have steady shot yet, so you aren't restricted to that 1.7 second attack speed.
But on the other hand you can only hold 8 slots worth of arrows.
I would say at that level bag space may be more valuable than attack speed. More bag space means less need to travel back to towns to dump your bags, so that converts to more time our grinding quests, more gold per farming session.
I would go with the 16 slot bag.
P.S. could you link the bow, was it always 1.7 attack speed...
Hunter Lore
2010-02-25
Hunters are a bit of a mishmash of different ideas and character types, so that's a tough question to answer. Here are a few notable examples though.
With pets (BM?):
Rexxar (and Misha)
Nathanos Marris (now Blightcaller)
Without pets (MM?):
The Windrunner Sisters (Alleria, Sylvanas, Vereesa)
With traps (SV?):
Hemet Nesingwary
Casual (Not Really A Hunter):
Rhonin

The WowWiki Hunter page lists Brann Bronzebeard as a notable hunter, but I really am not seeing it, and troll Shadowhunters are not exactly hunters (th...

NCsoft Unleashes the Bling Gnome
2009-10-20
The Bling Gnome has been let loose on the caves of the irreverent massively multiplayer online PC game Dungeon Runners where it will follow players around, eating item drops and converting them instantly into gold which it excretes from its enchanted bottom.

The Bling Gnome, found exclusively in the new Dungeon Runners retail pack, is a bejeweled gangster helper that will save players the tedious chore of picking up loot and taking it to a game merchant for storage or sale. Instead, the Bling Gnome has the ability to pick up most items and convert them into gold instantly in a gassy display from its rear end, no matter what game map the player is occupying.

Additionally, during a particul...

Make Your Own World Of Warcraft Gold The Easy Way
2009-09-24
World of Warcraft is the biggest MMORPG online anywhere in the globe. More than 11,000,000 players log on every month to finish quests and explore the large fantasy realms offered in this stunningly unique game. How could anybody ever lose interest with this sort of an incredibly detailed game? There are several new players that never get to grasp the true depth in this brilliant game just because their characters do not have enough gold to buy stronger armor, better weapons and pay for higher ability levels. They have a tendency to give up in disappointment instead of keep playing to see the true price of this big game.

Plenty of these newer players do not understand that it's comparatively simple to earn in-game WoW gold quickly in order that they can continue to play, purchasing everything they need to boost their characters' performance. If you search on the internet, you will find tons of maps and search cheats that may tell you how to close the quests you must earn experience points, but that isn't the same as learning to generate your own gold in-game if you desire. So these are some simple gold-making pointers that may help you on the way. When you start playing World of Warcr...
An Online Game Pioneer's Blank Slate
2009-09-19
South Korea's NCsoft is a pioneer of the new gaming genre of MMORPG, or massively multiplayer online role-playing games. Banking on the popularity of games such as Lineage, NCsoft is the No. 1 gaming company in Korea. The company is well-positioned to profit from a growing industry: Research firm DFC Intelligence expects the global online gaming market to grow from $4.5 billion in 2006 to $13.1 billion in 2012.
NCsoft has yet to make much of a mark in the West, though, since gamers used to Nintendo's Wii, Sony's (SNE) PlayStation, or Microsoft's (MSFT) Xbox have been slower than their Korean counterparts to embrace playing games online. NCsoft is trying to change that. On Oct. 4, the company announced the acquisition of Carbine Studios, an Orange County (Calif.) group of experienced game designers who have worked on such popular online games as World of Warcraft.
On Nov. 2, NCsoft will face its biggest test yet when it launches its latest product, a 3D game called Tabula Rasa, in North America and Europe. Ahead of the crucial launch, BusinessWeek's Seoul bureau chief Moon Ihlwan spoke to the game's principal developer. Richard Garriott, 46, was the creator of Ultima Online, the first online game introduced in the U.S. Now NCsoft's execut...
An MMO cookbook
2009-09-16
Before you start building the ultimate MMO, you should accept that "MMO" is a technology, not a game design. It still feels like many MMOs are trying to build on the fundamental designs established by UO and EQ in the late '90s. In the heyday of Doom and Quake we all eventually realized that "3D" was a technology, distinct from the "FPS," which was a game design. It's time we accepted that for MMOs as well. We are finding ways to overcome many of the limitations of the technology that dictated the early MMO design, such as Internet latency and limited global scalability. These improvements can enable a new class of online games that break out of the traditional MMO mold and explore new territory. It can be a daunting proposition to willfully walk away from what seems to be a "sure thing" in game design, but lack of differentiation is probably the number one reason that MMOs fail, so we all need to leave the comfort zone and start innovating, or risk creating yet another "me too" MMO.

The Daily Grind: On gateway games
2009-09-08
One of the many topics our own Robin Torres has featured by reader request has been the topic of getting your girlfriend into gaming. While many people truly enjoy the MMORPG genre, we're not entirely certain that anyone walks into a store the first time out and says to themselves that an MMO is the way they're going to start playing games. (Of course, with World of Warcraft breaking so many records, perhaps it is likely that someone got their start playing WoW before ever picking up an earlier title.) I know for myself, the earliest gam...
Basics of a Warrior Talent Tree
2009-08-27
This article explains a warrior's talent tree.

Going hand-in-hand with the category of battle stances is the talents tree. The talents tree is where a player can gain abilities that build on the aggressive abilities the character already has. These help with the cost of rage, giving the character more chances to hit or deflect, etc..
These abilities can gain force or usefulness points are added to them in the talents tree. This level it is raised to is called an ability’s rank. Points are gained by leveling the character.
For instance, the ability taunt has six ranks. In the first rank, taunt will taunt the target to attack the warrior, causing a small amount of threat. By level 6 though, taunt causes a high level of threat.
In the talent trees there are three different classifications: arms, fury, and protection. As their names imply, the arms classification generally deals with the battle stance and the protection classification deals with the defensive stance. Fury is a lesser used classification that can be used to add health, r...
