Basics of a Warrior Talent Tree

This article explains a warrior's talent tree.

Going hand-in-hand with the category of battle stances is the talents tree. The talents tree is where a player can gain abilities that build on the aggressive abilities the character already has. These help with the cost of rage, giving the character more chances to hit or deflect, etc..
These abilities can gain force or usefulness points are added to them in the talents tree. This level it is raised to is called an ability’s rank. Points are gained by leveling the character.
For instance, the ability taunt has six ranks. In the first rank, taunt will taunt the target to attack the warrior, causing a small amount of threat. By level 6 though, taunt causes a high level of threat.
In the talent trees there are three different classifications: arms, fury, and protection. As their names imply, the arms classification generally deals with the battle stance and the protection classification deals with the defensive stance. Fury is a lesser used classification that can be used to add health, rage, and resistance to a character.
Talents also help concrete whether the warrior is a tank or a powerhouse. Choosing where to put the points in the talents tree is critical. This comes later in the article, though.
Right now, study how abilities affect rage. Passive defenses, of course, use no rage, but other abilities can help the warrior get and maintain rage over longer periods of time. By being in battle stance and using the abilities, warriors generally hold more rage, for instance.
Many would think: I’m supposed to use defensive stance most, but I’ll get more rage by switching to battle stance. Well, yes and no. By switching to other stance the warrior will loose some rage. But don’t get too worried. There are also passive abilities that help hold rage while switching in between stances.
By now the player is usually confused. This list should clear up any questions about abilities and their effects on rage.Aggressive
Rage Abilities (Learned Abilities)Charge- This sends the warrior speeding at the target, increasing rage before any damage can be done. At higher levels this will stun the target as well. This requires battle stance.Inner Rage- This lets out the warrior's inner rage by increasing its rage by 30, increasing as it goes up in rank. Only used in berserker stance.Bloodrage- Bloodrage gives a gradual increase of rage; 20 rage over ten seconds. This ability has the downside of costing health as it gives rage. Never use when low on health. Used only in defensive stance.
Passive Rage Abilities (Found in the Talents Tree)
ArmsImproved Heroic Strike- Reduces the cost of rage for heroic strike by one point per rank.Improved Charge- Reduces the cost of rage for charge by three points per rank.Anger Management- This talent allows the warrior to keep your rage from disintegrating as quickly. It reduces this effect by 30%.Tactical Mastery- This helps the warrior retain five rage points when changing stances.
FuryUnbridled Wrath- This can increase the chance by 8% to gain one free rage point with every attack.
ProtectionImproved Bloodrage- This reduces the delay of rage gained by bloodrage by two seconds. This gradually increases by seconds as the rank increases.
With these tips a player should be able put together a good, strong talent tree for the warrior.
